Disney World 2014 Recap - Magic Kingdom (Monday - February 3, 2014)

On day 3 of our 2014 Disney World vacation we went to Magic Kingdom. It was another beautiful 80+ degree day. We decided to take the bus again from our resort since we used it the day before for Hollywood Studios and we were familiar with it. We arrived at the Magic Kingdom right at park opening. They were doing the welcome show when we got there. Once we were let into the park we headed straight for Space Mountain first to see if Kylie was tall enough to ride. Since she rode the Tower of Terror with me we decided to let her ride Space Mountain with her Daddy while Alexis and I waited.

Kylie survived Space Mountain, but it was another ride she did not want to ride again! We have the best picture showing how scared she was on the ride!

After Space Mountain we headed to Buzz Lightyear. It was a cute ride. Kylie enjoyed that one much better!

Next we went on The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. While waiting to get on this ride they have tons of things for the kids to play with. Makes the wait not seem so long. We really didn't wait long anyway, but it was still a bonus to have things to keep the girls attention.

After Winnie the Pooh we had a FastPass+ reservation for Dumbo. So we went over and rode that next.

When we finished riding Dumbo we still had a little time before our lunch reservation so we decided to watch Mickey's PhilharMagic. It was a really cute show. One of our favorites.

We had 11am lunch reservations at Be Our Guest restaurant. I was super happy to have gotten reservations for this restaurant. I was hoping we would get to eat there on this trip, but had read that the lines were extremely long for lunch and you would need to start lining up at 10:30am to get in so I wasn't sure if we would be able to eat there. Then right after we checked in to our resort I got an e-mail with a FastPass+ offer to eat lunch there one day of our stay. I was super happy about this and picked our lunch for this day. It was really nice. We ordered our meal ahead of time online so we were able to walk right up past the extremely long line, check in up front and pick out our seats with no wait. We chose to sit in the ballroom. Not long after we sat down our food arrived. The food was really good. The desserts were especially yummy. I would love to eat there again next time as well!

After lunch we had FastPass+ reservations for Peter Pan's Flight so we rode that next. That one was one of Kylie's favorites. Then we rode It's a Small World.

We had one more FastPass+ for the day and it was for The Haunted Mansion. So after we rode that one we walked around for a bit. We took some pictures in front of the castle and then Alexis fell asleep in the stroller. While Alexis was sleeping Daddy and I took turns riding Stitch's Great Escape with Kylie. She really liked that ride!

Alexis woke up so we decided we would meet Tinkerbell before we left for the day. Periwinkle was also there so we met her too! Alexis was not thrilled with meeting the fairies. I think she was just a little cranky since she had just woke up.

By this time it was around 4:30pm so we left the Magic Kingdom and walked over to the Contemporary Resort were we had 5pm dinner reservations at Chef Mickey's!

Chef Mickey's was a really fun meal. We loved seeing all the characters. We met Donald Duck, Goofy, Pluto, Minnie and Mickey. We are not planning to eat there again next time though. It is nice to see all the characters at one place, but to us the food was just average and not really worth the cost. You definitely eat there for the character experience so I think next time we will try something different. Breakfast may be the better option for Chef Mickey's, but we just didn't want to reserve a breakfast meal on this trip.

It was getting close to 7pm by the time we were done with dinner. We stopped in the gift shop at the Contemporary Resort then we headed down to the boat. They have a boat that goes directly to the Wilderness Lodge from the Contemporary Resort so it was very convenient.

That was the end of our first day at Magic Kingdom. We went back two more times on this trip! Next up though is our day at Animal Kingdom!
